Select offers a high level of basketball team activity, with the level of intensity, competitiveness and attention to detail the highest of any team basketball “club” activity in Shanghai. Our model is the elite club systems offered in the USA. As such, the training will probably be as physically and mentally demanding as any your child has experienced in youth sports. Team members will be held to high and exacting standards. We will develop their team discipline and a responsibility towards their teammates. At the same time, we endeavor to create a lifelong passion and love for basketball and sports / fitness in general.

Continual Improvement

We hope to train these kids to develop into fundamentally sound and productive middle school and high school players. Winning is not everything; effort, improvement and perseverance are. Year to year continual improvement by the players and the program’s teaching and communication methods is an absolute requirement. On and off the court personal character development is the program’s end goal.

Sportsmanship And Respect

Sportsmanship and Respect for ALL our opponents, referees, spectators and parents. It is directed towards myself first of all. It is a requirement for every coach and player in the program. We hope the parents involved will also abide by this. Coaches, managers and parents need to be good role models for the kids.

Through providing Select Players with a more formalized development plan, we are striving for Players to realize:

Greater enjoyment through improved skill level.

Become stronger, faster, quicker and more agile.

Be prepared to play at the next level in their schooling

Develop a greater understanding and love of basketball and sports.

All Players understand and accept that the same effort expected of you in basketball is expected in the classroom. Failing to give your best effort academically will result in being excused from basketball activities until such time as your parents advise the basketball program your effort is satisfactory.
