First Week of Spring Training (Dribbling)

Hello All Select Players,

Last week during our first weekend of Spring training we focused on dribbling.  Every single one of you can improve your dribbling skills, and I think last week was a good start to our overall team improvement!  Now it is up to you to practice the skills that we taught you and practice on your own over this upcoming weekend and next week before our next team practice. 

Dribbling skills that are required for all Select players

-Dribble with both hands
-Eyes up when dribbling
-Ball should be dribbled below waist level
-Ability to run full speed while dribbling
-Ability to change speeds while dribbling
-Ability to change direction while dribbling
– Ability to maintain dribble while pressured by defense

All the coaches expect to see improvement in all of these areas by our next practice.  

The key to becoming a better ball-handler is to push yourself and practice your weaknesses.  It is ok to make mistakes in practice!  During practice you should try to dribble as hard as you can while running as fast as you can.  I hope you all continue to practice hard on your own, and I’ll see you all at practice next Saturday.
